Question about raid card compatibility

Featured Replies

Does Unraid support the Raidcore raid cards from Ciprico? (The 5252-08 for example).

Is yes, does it also support disk spin down?

Thanks.

Thats going to a tough one. that went out of business years ago.. as I recall those raidcore cards needed an intel ICHR board to work for windows software raid and never worked in anything higher then Vista. they were not actual hardware raid cards. if i recall correctly...

Obviously you just want to run JOBD for unRAID.

If you do not have one, I would not buy it for any OS. Chances of it working for any OS going forward is slim since you cant get drivers.

If you do have one. you can look and see what the chipset is on the card and post it. Even better, you make a flash drive with the the free version of unraid. boot it and see unraid it can see the disks attached to it.

IF, and that's a big if because those cards never had good linux support, but if it did work the card does not support spin down and IIRC they do not play nice with drives above 1.5 tb.
