Can't access UI during disk clear

Featured Replies

I am adding 3x3tb disks to an unraid server running the latest RC.

The clearing started for all three discs, but after about 4% complete I closed the browser.

It has been 24 hours since then, and I cannot access the UI.

I can telnet into the server and login.

How do I tell when the clearing is complete so I can format the disks and expand the array?

Chances are the emhttp process got killed due to the amount of memory that was needed for the preclear.

Makes me think: did you use preclear or did you just add the drives to the array ?

If you just added I would advice breaking it off and starting over again with email notifications on preclear and running thru "screen".

Pre-clear must have finished and/or something got fixed, I can now login to the UI, and I never reset the server.

I was just adding the disks, not using the pre-clear script.

Now that I can login, it is asking me to format the disks, which has started.

Not sure why the server became unresponsive during clear, that is why I posted this as a RC issue.

Sorry, this is a known defect in the webGui, that clearing of new drives is not done as a background process, so emhttpd (webGui server) sits there and waits until the process completes.  If you look at the system log, you will see progress messages getting generated however.
