Speed report

Featured Replies

Just wanted to post my unraid server specs and the speeds I get from it, in case it helps answer anyone's speed or build questions:

I run unraid 5.0-rc6 in a CM stacker case with 15 hard drives in sizes from 1.5 to 3.0tb, all 5400RPM green drives from Seagate and WD.  A8 processor with 4gig ram, and I use a supermicro PCIe 8x card with 8 sata ports, the mobo sata ports, and a 2-port PCIe 1x card.  My network is single gigabit.

For write speeds I am very consistent at 24MB/s (no cache drive), and for read speeds I am currently half-way through copying 1.8TB to a USB 3.0 external drive at 83.2MB/s.  This is what prompted me to post, as I had not previously done a large file transfer to a USB3.0 hard drive through my network.

My parity checks are 50MB/s, and my disk re-builds are 78MB/s

I'm happy with these speeds, but really have no benchmark as to whether it is "good" or not.
