KellyVB
Hi, and Happy Holidays to ALL. Heres my problem, I have a plus setup with 1 pairty, 2 data & 1 cache disk. I want to add some more drives but only have 4 sata ports on this MB (Gigabyte M68M-S2P) which has been up and runnibg for almost 3 years now. 1.-What kind of raid card can i get and do i just set it up as JOBD? 2.-can I use both the onboard connectors as well as the ones on a card? Thanks Kelly VB Quote Link to comment
Benni-chan
since you do have a pcie1x port, you could use a simple 2-port pcie card. (this would allow you to add two more drives) and yes, of course you can use both the ports of your mainboard and the ports of any extension card. for sata controller cards, see here for more infos: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12404.0 Quote Link to comment

internetfriend
If this chipset works, its a no brainer to go with this if you just need 2 more ports. 12 bucks! http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10407&cs_id=1040702&p_id=2530&seq=1&format=2 EDIT: just read the reviews, works fine in unraid. Go wild. Also just saw benni's linked URL calls out this exact card. Welp. Quote Link to comment
markguy
Make sure your PSU has the rails and the wattage to add more drives, too. Quote Link to comment
