December 15, 201213 yr if anyone has invites for a good private indexer, or invites to a private tracker for torrents, please PM me!! I would swap for the one I'm on - ratios are hard to keep on the one i'm at, so perhaps a smaller place where i can get a few things from my current and seed on the new. Thanks,
December 23, 201213 yr I've been running a Newznab indexer for a couple of months now. I basically index movies and TV shows. No software of music. I don't have any users using it all, since it runs in my home constantly updating all the time. Anyone can setup a Newznab indexer, but that software only works is if you have the "regex's" regular expressions. These basically filter out the raw data and add info to the DB. If the regex code is not written well then Newznab would be useless. I don't like it too much really since you really need to know how to create regex's. Newznab gives you free regex's if you only donate to them. A little odd piece of information people find out after they've been running the indexer and not seeing anything populate in the database. A Newznab server is only as good as the regex code. Anyway, I've put up a forum for Newznab since those guys are very stubborn and won't do it. They actually try to run support out of an IRC channel. Imagine if unRaid did that? What a joke. Anyway, here is the forum address: http://www.newznabforums.com It is a brand new forum, so not that much content there now. I really do miss NZBMatrix bad. I wish I had their code. It was the best usenet index around.
January 2, 201313 yr Hi, I am thinking of getting into usenet and all these while i was using direct downloads from file sharing sites. Since the recent shutdown I almost stopped downloading since i don't trust torrents. Then I came across binaries in Usenet but again the recent trend of indexer shutting down doesn't inspire any confident...can the regular user let me know if there is a future usenet (binaries) should I got for it? thanks for all your inputs

Since the shutdown of nzbmatrix, I have encountered some trouble finding a few shows. I check five indexers every time I search. Some have the content; some do not. I'm not super concerned as I think things will eventually be worked out. You can always search indexers for the content you like. If it's there, you'll probably be fine. Get an account at a server, start downloading.
January 5, 201313 yr Anyone? Sure, why not spend $16 and get Newznab +, scrounge up a PC, install Ubuntu 12.04 and have your own personal indexing rig in 3-4 hours, running headless. I did, and its not difficult to do. If you have a "fat pipe", it may be a good investment. But the fact is, there's still plenty of "free" resources available for the information being discussed in this topic.
