December 2, 201213 yr I kind have ran into a mionor situation just short time ago. it is nothing major just a minor issue. We got talking about a movie, I went to nzbmatrix and found it. I couldn't download it as my unraid server was at home. Is there a way to securly access sab over thing internet to download stuff when I am on the road or at someones house?
December 2, 201213 yr you could open the port in your router. but then, you should set a username and password for sab... the better way (the one i use myself) would be, to use the bookmark system of nzbmatrix. you can add your bookmarks as an rss-feed in sab, so any file, you add as an bookmark, will be automatically downloaded. works without too much problems... (at one time, i was on tour for several days, and i wanted to look at one movie. so i added it to the bookmarks, my server at home downloaded it, plex media server added it to its library and i could stream it to my ipad )
December 2, 201213 yr Another solution would be using logmein to access a pc on your home network. No port forwarding or cofig needed.
December 2, 201213 yr I've seen other posts where Dropbox is used. Probably the easiest solution is to use bookmarks like Benni-chan suggested. To use Dropbox, you have to install & configure the Dropbox plugin then configure a directory on Dropbox as a download location for NZBs in Sab. I don't use this, so can't offer much help... just mentioning it as an option.
December 2, 201213 yr I set up a VPN between my router (Asus RT-N16 running Tomato firmware) and my android phone. I use an app called MediaDog on my phone to interface with SickBeard, CouchPotato, Headphones & SABnzbd while i'm out of the house. It's been working great. I used to use an SSH tunnel before I configured the VPN.
