I removed my addons

Copy the files bzimage and bzroot from the zip file to the root of my flash device and rebooted

 

It has been booting up for about 15min now and I cant access it though my browser.

 

Is there something wrong or does it just take a while on the first boot?

Hang a monitor on the box and see what is happening.  Fifteen minutes seems much too long... unless you have an very old motherboard that only supports USB 1.1 in the BIOS. 

 

I have it connected to my tv via hmdi and the tv isn't receiving it. I know it did on 4.7.

The mother board is new enough so I don't think its that.

The led on the usb is still blinking very fast which makes it look its doing something. I cant access it through telnet either.

I would be most reluctant to recommend a hard powerdown if you have any hard drive activity going on.  If no Hard drive activity, then that might be the only option. 

 

If you do do a hard shutdown, I would suggest pulling the USB key out and boot while watching the TV to make sure you can see the bootup sequence.  With no USB key, you will end up with a failure to find a boot disk but that would be expected.  If you can see the POST process on the TV, then plugin the USB key and reboot with the reset button or ctrl-alt-del key stroke. 

 

There was no disk drive activity. It was just the usb that was flashing.

I did a hard powerdown, checked the usb on my pc to see it was working ok and tried it in a different slot.

 

That was the problem. Its working fine now
