December 6, 201213 yr I have searched but didn't really find an answer to this. I am getting reacy to add a cache drive to my system. I have seen mention that some plugins are better off installed to the cache drive than running from the USB boot stick. How do you install plugins to the cache drive and have unraid see them? Do I just make a plugins directory on the cache?
December 6, 201213 yr if you are talking about unraid v5 plugins: the plg file ALWAYS go to the flash drive in config/plugins. but after the plugin is installed, you have its settings in the unraid webgui. there you can define, where the app should be installed (mostly the preset is ok, in my apps it's /usr/local/.... which is on the ramdrive. if you only have very little ram, you can change this install directory to your cache disk) more important is the data directory. this should NEVER be on the flash drive, since there are a lot of writes to this directory. this is the one, you want on your cache drive. to do this, simply create a new share and set it to cache only. so this share will stay on the cache drive. you could call it "apps". then, for example, you would set the data directory for the sabnzbd plugin to /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd.
December 6, 201213 yr If it is on the cache drive and you have the "use cache drive" option ON in unRAID then you should also make sure the "cache only" option is set for your apps share.
