Hi there,

I've been running 5.0-rc8a now for a few weeks. What a great product! Everything's working fine (parity check with zero errors) except I'm getting unusual activity in the syslog. These errors don't appear to affect anything. Does anyone have any idea how to address whatever the issue is?

Am I really the only one with these kinds of messages in my log? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can honestly say I have never seen anything like that at all, and I have examined a lot of syslogs.  Maybe it is related to a particular addon?  You might try upgrading to RC10, and if you still see those messages, try removing addons one by one.

 

Also, find out what udevd-work is, and why it is installed.

Attach a complete syslog. zip if needed.

upgraded to rc11, still getting the same messages. Completely syslog attached.

have run 4.7 for years before upgrading to 5.0.

 

Hardware details:

Motherboard: GA-MA74GM-S2 (6 SATA)

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+

Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 8-port SATA PCI-E card (8 SATA)

One SATA drive on an older PCI SATA card.

Thanks so much. So simple. I have removed all plugins--it looks like some were old ones from 4.7. I was also running SimpleFeatures. I'm back to barebones and will slowly add SimpleFeatures back over the next few weeks.
