I was running 1.0.5 with no issues but when I updated I could no longer load the newznab web page - I got a '500' error in the browser.

 

I have now gone straight back to 1.0.5.

 

Anyone have any ideas? Sadly I didn't get a log file as I went straight back to 1.0.5

Yes, having all sorts of problems since upgrading SF's. When I go to my NewzNab url I just get blank pages now.

I've taken the time today to get Newznab installed.  It appears things are running but on the main page for the site, if I click on any of the links I get 404's.  I'm guessing it is the redirects/rewrites that are incorrect.  Am I right here?

Can someone help me with enabling curl? I can see that the curl packages is installed and that the curl.so extension exists. When i enable it in the php.ini file, it causes a constant error loop "Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/curl.so' - libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

 

SOLVED: Needed to enable curl install in the simpleFeatures webserver plg under the #Optional packages section.

I am getting this error on the unraid terminal whenever I click on the newznab icon on the Settings page.  It seems like the path etc/rc/rc.newznab needs a leading "/" so that bash can find rc.newznab (because the file is physically there).  I attempted to look for this line in code and add a slash but to no avail.  I'm not even sure this is a problem.  Anyone have any light to shed on this issue? 

 

The newznab webpage seems to work correctly but I can't really tell if update_binaries and update_release is doing anything.  I am at a standstill and starting to lose faith that I will get newznab running correctly.

Is it the plugin you are having trouble with... or phpvirtualbox (the web graphical interface)?

 

I have instructions at http://vbox.a1aina.com/install.php that detail how to install the tgz package of VirtualBox, the guest additions, a web server & phpvirtualbox. The plugin installs the tgz & guest additions. The simpleFeatures web server has changed in newer versions since I wrote my instructions (& since I like my version that works for me, I have not updated the web server portion further... however there are forum posts here that can assist with the newer web server).

 

Please be a little more specific of what you have tried & any errors you encountered... it is hard to troubleshoot "it doesn't work".

Hi guys, sorry for late response, I have v5.0 rc13 with SF 1.0.11, I was able to install the newznab plugin but status is: not installed.  Have got mysql running, status is showing as: running. The SF web server plugin just doesn't seem to start, when I reboot it is always disabled, when I enable it and apply, the status is still not running.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to resolve the 500 error.  I cleaned out all of my plugins and started again.  I imagine I had some legacy code sitting around from a previous plugin install through the unMenu package manager.  Anywho, I was able to get nn+ up and running.  Looks like lots of releases are coming in.

and I am getting over 1000 results.

 

I have the same problem, so I tried what you did. I removed all plugins and packages that are not instrumental to running newznab. Unfortunately it didn't help, I still get that error.

 

Any further ideas how to solve this?

A bit off topic but I have a few nzb.su invites if anyone with at least member status is interested (sorry no newbies) . I tried setting up my own newznab server but my internet is too slow and I find the comments from other members useful. Send me a PM (please don't clutter this thread) with your email and I'll update this post when they're gone.

thanks lionelhutz for the reply.  Unfortunately, I already tried that after pulling the code.  Tried again just now (says now patches required, at rev 2937), and I still get a blank screen and/or a 500 internal error...  Any other suggestions before I try starting from scratch?

I upgraded Unraid to V5 final and now I'm getting the following warnings in Newznab:

 

MySql my.cnf setting group_concat_max_len is too low, should be >= 8192.
MySql my.cnf setting max_allowed_packet is too low, should be >= 12582912.

 

I didn't have these warnings under 5.0 RC 11 and I checked the my.cnf and the values are correct.  Any suggestions?

Having some trouble getting this plugin to work.  Not sure if there is anything I need/ed to do with MySQL prior to download/install of the newznab pluggin but went ahead and did that.

 

Had to update it to download and install a newer copy of subversion (1.6.21) and it seems to install okay but this is what I see under http://tower/Settings/newznab at the top.

(lighttpd version: 1.4.31 -- PHP 5.3.17) It says "enabled" but didn't know if I needed to setup something here either.

I don't know if PHP was already installed or not.  It said 5.3.17 on the web settings for simple features page but after I installed it via unMenu which brought it down to 5.2.8 all my php errors went away on the newznab settings page.

 

Lighttpd still says "Status:  Stopped" and I think that's why newznab says "Not Configured" because it's failing to install/configure or whatever based on lighttpd not running.

I discovered that sqlite did not install because the plugin looked for an older version that wasn't available.  Changed the .plg and manually installed all other packages were smooth and the web server is now running and it gives me a 404 error when I navigate to the port I set.  I think this is good progress, now to get newznab up and running.
