I bought a Samsung 830 256GB a month ago for $159 and thought that was a great deal then.  Samsung SSDs are among the best.

    Just for FYI : There are now two different Samsung 840 series. The plain Samsung 840 and the Samsung 840 Pro. Basically one consumer and one enthusiast model using different NAND chips.

     

    So the successor for the old 830 is the 840 pro model and the plain 840 is a new series.
