Change emhttp port

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to reconfigure emhttp to default to another port then 80 ?

I have a lot of stuff running on the system and would to have a base mainpage to route to the different functions of the system, ofcourse I know I can also do that thru another port but I would prefer having my "overall main page" on port 80.

I suspect there may never have been a direct request for it, few have needed it.

And it's not quite as simple as just adding a setting, could be confusing for non-technical users, as they will lose the UI until they also change the server address in their browser (which seems obvious but some users ...).  And I believe it will probably require a reboot, as emhttp cannot currently be restarted.  Additional help has to be displayed, to lessen confusion for some.

I would word it a bit different as I can see people changing the emhttp post simply because a docker app wants to use it instead of remapping the docker port.

Remapping emhttp should be a lost resort

Good point, and I've added it.  Any more improvements?

... a lost resort

You had me thinking of a quiet place with empty cabins and no visitors and maybe a private beach, if we could find it!
