UPS: Cyberpower CP625HG and apcupsd

Featured Replies

Just want to report that apcupsd recognizes my new Cyberpower 625VA UPS.  I asked my wife to stop by Best Buy today and pick one up for me.  Shelf price was $68.99.  While she was there she asked me to send a link to the BB online web site, as the store honors the online price, which was $64.99.  She then said "Hey, check the price at Fry's because they might match that too."  Fry's has it for $49.99.  SWMBO saved me $19 with a couple clicks of the mouse.

My build is pretty freaking new, just parity and two data drives right now.  Using my Kill-A-Watt the system draws about 50 W from the 120V outlet.  The "UPS Info" screen in unMENU suggests it will last 40+ minutes.  I'm reluctant to test shutdown quite yet, the packaging suggests it should be plugged in for 8 hours first.  I'm thinking that when I do test the UPS shutdown capability I should stop the array first.  Sound like a plan?

[EDIT]: gah!  Mis-typed apcupsd twice!  Need to troubleshoot that error between keyboard and chair.

An update: power test worked flawlessly.  Unplugged the UPS at the wall and it gave a couple of beeps, which it continued to do every 30 seconds or so.  Checked apcupsd via unMENU and it showed the following:

It began shutdown at 300 seconds as programmed, and within about 15 seconds the unRAID system powered down.  I'm tickled that it all works so well, just plug and play.  I should probably mention that I have unRAID 5.0-rc8a and apcupsd 3.14.3.

For the benefit of anyone wondering if apcupsd works with this particular model of Cyberpower UPS, my answer is an emphatic YES!  Laurels and hearty handshakes are due for the folks that have made this stuff just work.  Thank you!!
