Is there a plugin so I can install http://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php?page=linux on my unraid?

 

I'm trying to share newznab so my friend can use it. I may not have to install it since my couchpotato, sickbeard, and sabnzbd can already be accessed. I've tried with the port number like on those three but it doesnt show up much. My command line skills are very low.

i have a simliar plugin... it's using inadyn (a tool for multiple dyndns services). see my signature (second link) for the download.

 

haven't used it in quite some time, so no promises... and as far as i can remember, it got unstable after about a week and didn't update anymore correctly...

but you can try it and see, if it works for you.

I better not, if it gets unstable, I wont know how to fix it.

I suggest using your router for this.

 

I am using no-ip.com for my dynamic dns service. it's been working very well for me.

I set it up in my router so the router will update the ip address periodically instead of the unraid machine or other server.

 

if you have a router that supports ddns, or using a router with a custom firmware, this should be easy to set up in the router.

Thats probably what I'll end up doing. I really didnt want to put ddwrt on it cuz i heard it will make them over heat, but if the router isnt doing what I need it to do it's kinda useless anyways.

What's weird is I open up ports for sickbeard, couchpotato, and sabnzbd and I can access them I believe because I have this no-ip installed on one of my pc's. I have the port I want for newznab open and I cant access it. It must be something in the web server application. Does anyone know anything about that plugin?
