NIC compatibility on GA-Z77X-D3H?

when entering the "ifconfig eth0" command at the prompt I'm am greeted with an error fetching the interface information. I have tried both 4.7 and 5RC8a with the same result. The GA-Z77X-D3H is using an Atheros NIC chipset, but I have not been able to find a specific version or any information here regarding compatibility. I'd just really like confirmation that the NIC chipset on this board is incompatible before I spend more money to get a NIC card only to find out later that I didn't need it

    Just tried again with the same result. unRAID v5RC8a does not find my ethernet adapter. Posting (hopefully) my syslog to see if that gives any of the gurus here any hints of what might be wrong if, indeed, my NIC chipset should be compatible.
