December 28, 201213 yr I have quite a few WD 3TB drives in my array. They're definitely not my favorite drives? But the $79 I paid for them made them worth grabbing. I noticed today that disk5, the disk this post is in reference to has 9000+ errors on the main screen. I haven't dug into troubleshooting, but it pre cleared 3 passes without any issues. Only been in my array for about 3 weeks now. I have 2 more 3TB seagate drives and 4 seagate 2TB drives I am about to add, once the preclear ing is finished. Should I troubleshoot this drive, if so what is best steps or should I plug into a windows machine. Run WDs tool and warranty it?
December 28, 201213 yr You can always try in another system with WDtools if there is a hardware defect. If so, warranty it. If not check your system.
December 28, 201213 yr Author It is currently on a bri10 card that I need to pull and replace with another 1015M. I'll try that first.
