Due to a error on my usb stick while rebooting the server I lost the configuration, all slots show unassigned. luckily its on a small 4 disk server plus parity and cache disk. How do I rebuild the array. It's unraid 5.0 RC8a.

if you have a backup of the USB contents just copy those to a new stick, boot and go (get a replacement key from Tom). If you dont have a USB contents back up (something tells me you surely will after this recovery ) you have to determine drive was the parity drive (FOR CERTAIN) and then re-assign in whatever slot you want. Assign the parity drive to the parity slot and re-build parity.

 

do you know FOR SURE which drive was parity?

yes, i know which one is parity.

then i'd just treat it as a INITCONFIG and assign the data drives, re-do your settings and away you go.
