December 28, 201213 yr I could buy these HBAs at the moment, but it is not clear to me if unRAID supports them? -I know LSI SAS3801E has external connectors -I understand that LSI SAS9220-8i is supported, but the HBA which is widely mentioned here has a different FRU number (FRU 46M0861) - not sure if this makes any difference? Can you please help me out? Thank you!
December 28, 201213 yr Don't know about the LSI SAS3801E but flashed to IT mode it will likely work with unRAID 5.0. Think of the FRU number like a stock code for ordering so a different FRU number shouldn't matter. IBM M1015s have multiple FRU numbers depending on if they are a replacement card or one that was supplied with a server directly - but they are the same card. There is probably a third FRU if it came with a battery backup unit from those without the BBU.
