TCIII
Tom, Can those of us using PATA drives go from Legacy to Enhanced in the BIOS on the original Intel motherboard if we are using the new version 3.0 O/S? Regards, TCIII Quote Link to comment
teamhood
I want to say yes... I was running an all PATA system and I am 99% sure that when I added my SATA drives to the system that I did switch to 'enchanced' when I upgraded to 3.0... that was a long night.... but I am pretty damn sure that is what I did to get the SATA drives to be mixed with the PATA Quote Link to comment
jimwhite
so, If I have 12 IDE drives hooked up, can I switch to enhanced and add SATA drives to expand my array past 12 drives? Quote Link to comment

This was talked about a while ago and I believe Tom said that it *was* possible. But, now with 3.0 and assigned drives, I don't believe it is possible.... Quote Link to comment
limetech
Yes you can switch the D865GLCLK to "enhanced" to enable the on-board SATA controllers. This has been possible since 1.060324. All it does is turn on the SATA controllers. At the present time the unRAID server drive limit is 12. There are issues going beyond 12 but do-able; I'll put it on the list. Quote Link to comment
