I've always wondered why V5 stopped using the "beeps" on boot up.

 

ever since i went from 4.7 to one of the 5.x betas i havent heard the beeps since on my system.

 

is it just me or have others noticed this also???

yeah, I noticed that too and I miss it.  My server is in a different room and it would be nice to have the audible notification when the boot up is complete. 

 

Any way to get it back or add something to the go script that would do the same thing?

That's GREAT.  I just found the "beep" command and had put a couple of random beeps into the go script.  This way better.

  You can also do searches for "beep music"  I was amazed a few years ago when I was looking around at how many things people have already scripted to play with the beep command!

 

  Somewhere I made a menu script to manually select many different songs so I could enjoy them on my little PC speaker.  NOTE: the do NOT sound very good if you only have the little piezo speaker like many newer motherboards now have...
