How do i install my new RAID card ??

Featured Replies

Hi,

I follow most of you and buy Adaptec RAID card.  It's plugged, the light flash on start, i plug 1 HDD for the moment, but when i go into webGUI, i don't see that hard drive.

I am suppose to do something more than just plug the card ?

Do i have to install drivers for unRAID to make that card works ?

Make sure the Adaptec card is configured in JBOD mode (that is no RAID configuration active).

You can access the card's configuration upon reboot of the system.

Btw what type of card are you using?

You do need local console and keyboard to do so...

well, i connected my second screen, the keyboard and the mouse (in case) and i rebooted my "Tower".

During the boot process, i don't see anywhere to set the card in JBOD.

I don't use these Supermicro cards myself, but in the menu of the card you did disable (if applicable) a RAID configuration?

Another thing to keep in mind... there might be a SATA incompatibility between your card and the drive. Anyway to force a SATA mode - say SATA 2 - on the drive itself (jumper)?

Can you mention as well the model of drive you are using, perhaps others can jump in about suspected incompatibilities...
