Hey,

I've been a lurker here forever and I  am finally now ready to build a server.

 

I am seeking some feedback  and input on MB and CPU combos.

 

- Purpose of server: newsgroup processing, serving HD files to 2 displays, photo and general system backup

- starting with 3 x 3TB segate data, 1 x 3TB parity, 1 x 500GB Cache ; would like to expand to 8 drives at some point for 24 TB

 

Q1.  I'd like to get core 13 or i5 setup, but I can't seem to find a combo that seems to be "best".  Any suggestions for a MB that offers the most features and is stable?

Q2.  I have a Core i7 920 is there a MB that would work with that CPU?  I don't see a lot of people running this CPU (power draw :performance I'm guessing?)
