September 13, 200817 yr Hi, please provide for Avahi (http://avahi.org/) in UnRaid. This would be beneficial for us Mac users using Bonjour (zeroconf). Thanks, Roland
September 13, 200817 yr This package might work: http://www.slacky.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5503&Itemid=56 You'd just need to download the .tgz file, save it to your flash, and use installpkg <<package path/name>> to install it.
September 13, 200817 yr Author I installed according to your instructions and there is a dependency to dbus. I installed that as well and libspp.so.o.0 was missing so I installed that into /usr/lib/libssp.so.0.0.0, but I get the following error when trying to start avahi: root@Nas:/boot/localconfig# avahi-daemon --debug Found user 'avahi' (UID 1005) and group 'avahi' (GID 1005). Successfully dropped root privileges. avahi-daemon 0.6.22 starting up. WARNING: No NSS support for mDNS detected, consider installing nss-mdns! dbus_bus_get_private(): Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory WARNING: Failed to contact D-Bus daemon. September 14, 200817 yr Author Well, after trying different things I can not get it working on unRaid. I suspect that for a linux savy person this is not difficult (meaning Tom). How about a little love for the mac users? I think samba is ok, but would be better with bonjour support. Regards, Roland
