How to copy old unRAID drive to array over USB

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I have an old IDE drive that I took out of my old unRAID box that I am hoping to connect over USB (I don't have IDE connector in my new unRAID box) to copy the files (media) over to my array. I can either copy to a specific drive with lot's of room, or to the cache and let unRAID take care of the rest later.

How do I do this? I'm a Linux noob so step by step instructions would be helpful.

I could also connect it to my Mac and do it that way but don't think OSX would recognize the drive former, correct? This would be easier for me and wouldn't require me to shut down the unRAID box.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Look in the wiki. Or search for SNAP in the user customizations forum.

or just plug it in to windows machine and copy over network.
