January 10, 201313 yr Hi, I am currently in the process of upgrading my current 2TB Parity drive to a 3TB one in order to accomodate bigger Data disks in the future. I have checked some threads and am torn between buying a WD Red (which I can get with a 3 year warranty) or the other standard 3TB options (WD Green, Seagate 7200.14 and Toshiba which all cost similar amounts and would come wit a 2 year warranty here). Can you give me a recommendation concerning the choice for use as a parity drive?
January 10, 201313 yr when it comes right down to it it is half of one dozen of another. Get which one you like and go from there. I have a used the WD Greens, and Seagates. Not had any problems with the Seagate one that is running nearly 24/7 in a Crashplan backup server.
