January 10, 201313 yr Just built my first Unraid setup using an old Tyan mobo. The Tyan mobo has dual Operon CPU's and two sticks of 4gb of ram. I got unraid working by removing one stick of ram and one CPU. Is there any benefit to adding the second CPU or ram? I would like less power consumption, but if performance is better, then its better.
January 11, 201313 yr The second CPU and RAM will not noticeably improve performance unless you are running a CPU or RAM intensive add-on.

Having an additional CPU or extra RAM will help with addons, but it will not improve your drive access performance.
