Adding HD's as I go *a question on shares*

Ok - I'm working on 5.0 beta 11.  I've got some user shares and started with a few HD's.  Now the shares are "high water".  I've added a few more HD's to the server and it reads it and I can manually write to them.  Do I have to add the share names to them or will the system automatically move over to them and start all that?
