<SOLVED> 5rc8 - adding parity drive instuctions ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just finished loading up my two data drives, and now I've want to enable my parity drive. They are all 3tb drives with preclear.

I followed the initial instructions but it doens't appear to be doing anything

Step 1 Stop the array.

Step 2 Click Devices.

Step 3 Select the drive to be used for parity from the drop down menu next to parity device.

Step 4 Click main, place a check in the box next to I'm sure I want to do this, and then click Start.

Step 5 Click refresh after a few moments to see the status. This will give you the statistics of the Parity-Sync along with an estimated finish time.

Now show orange next to the parity drive with start, parity is invalid. Nothing is going on for any of the drives.

There is a button <Sync> "Sync will start Parity-Sync." I am suppose to click on that to start to parity build ?

Thanks. Runnings at 48.3 MB/sec which is bit disappointing, but will see how the server is when all is finished

That is about 3 or 4 times the speed on my older PCI buss based unRAID server.  I would not be too concerned.
