Mobo & Storage Card Issues

Featured Replies

Hi

I am trying to build my first unRaid server with a Asus P5GC-MX1333 motherboard and a AOC-SASLP-MV8 storage controller.

The problem is that the motherboard will not recognize the card!!!

I have put the card into another pc to test it and as expected after the POST it tries to detect drives, but when i put it into the other mobo it does nothing.

The mobo only has PCI-E x1 and x16's so i have put it into the x16 and set the bios to use the onboard video and played around with as many settings as i can find but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Lloyd

Although I am not specifically familiar with that board, it only has 1 type x16 slot, and it may only be able to be used for graphic cards. I know there are threads here that talk about it, but the Asus forums might be a good place to start your search.

Cheers

i did contact tech support and they said

"In theory, the PCIeX16 slot can be compatible with PCIex8 devices, but as you see, there is no test report about the device you mentioned on the motherboard, we could not guarantee that it would be compatible on the motherboard well in actual operation.

But if now you have the card, you can have a test directly."

I will ask at the asus forums as google aint helped so far :-(
