Atom/E350 w 6 SATA and PCI?

Featured Replies

Anyone know of any low power mITX MBs with six SATA and a PCI slot?  I can find ones with a PCIe slot but not standard PCI.

Are motherboards even still manufactured with regular PCI slots?  I thought those went the way of the Dodo in the mid-2000's.

Just curious, but what are you plugging into a PCI slot anyway?

There are plenty, especially quite a number in the mini-ITX form factor.  But most of those do not have as many as 6 SATA ports.

To the OP - old-style PCI will be slow for any add-on disk controller.  I used to use an SIL3114 type card in a Gigabyte Atom board (GA-D510UD, GA-D525UD style).  Parity checks were especially slow.  Changing mother board to one with a PCI-e slot with a compatible disk controller made a big difference.
