Question(s) about boot up process and plugins

Featured Replies

Guys,

I've done some searching on the forums and wiki site, but I'm not seeing anything about this topic.  If I missed it, just point me in the right direction.  Thanks!

I have a fairly generic Unraid setup, with a couple plugins.  Unmenu, SimpleFeatures, Influencer's Sab/Sickbeard/Couch/etc, and Plex Media server.  However, I've noticed that the system is unresponsive on a boot up/reboot until after all the "extra" plugins are loading.  For instance, I can not reach the web GUI (http://tower) until all the plugins finish loading, and if for some reason there is a problem (GitHub is down and so things can't download or what not), then my system will just sit and wait, and never become responsive.  (This make sense to a certain extent since SimpleFeatures replaces the basic web GUI, but bare with me)

The question is, is that the normal/expected operation, or have I installed/configured things improperly?  I would think the expected operation would have Samba and the basic WebGUI become operational first, and then worry about trying to load plugins.  In my case, if the plugins fail, it can become a big issue since rebooting won't fix it (it will just hang in the same place until the plugin is fixed or removed).

Does that make sense?

Thanks!
