UnRAID won't install - CPU does not have PAE?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Is there a work around. (boot switch?)

When I try to install unRAID, I get the message that the system is not supported because my CPU does not support PAE?  It is a 2GHz Intel M CPU, I have a Thecus device(bought in 2010) and I am trying to ditch their firmware and go with unRAID?

Is there a workaround?  I saw something about Lubuntu version 10.x would work, but then what?  Am I not able to use unRAID?  Do I haver to install Lubuntu and then install unRAID myself?  (ie, not use their installer, do it manually)

Thanks,

David

Sorry, no workaround but I'm considering creating a non-PAE kernel.

Have you given further consideration on building a non-pae CPU kernel? I would like to try to re-purpose some old Laptop(s) as unRAID servers in my home. I have 3 of these collecting dust.
