January 22, 201313 yr Hello, about to buy parts for my build. Looking at Tirger Direct I see this deal with a Core i3/MoBo combo...seems like a great deal considering the board comes with 8 SATA connectors onboard. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7447741&CatId=6982 Never heard of the board though. Seems as if it would be OK. Anyone have any insight or recomendations???
January 30, 201313 yr ECS has been a round for a while and make a decent board. Would be a decent deal but it comes with a last generation Core i3 processor. I'd go for this: Current generation i3 and motherboard combo for $198 after rebate and $24 bucks for a 4GB stick of RAM. Only $2 bucks more than the combo you found. Board has 6 on board SATA ports plus plenty of PCIe slots for future controller card upgrades. You have to purchase the board by the end of the day on the 31st to get the $10 rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1177241 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148539
January 30, 201313 yr +1 ...besides, I would invest another USD more for buying a Dual-Channel Kit (2x2GB) from the RAM selection: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%20600006050%20600006066&IsNodeId=1&name=4GB%20%282%20x%202GB%29
