Plex not downloading Metadata

Featured Replies

I am having trouble with Plex on RC10. I just did a fresh install and I rescanned all of my media.

All of my media is named correctly following the Plex guide and the scanner is correctly identifying the seasons and episodes.

However, Plex will not pull in the metadata for half of my TV shows. It stops pulling in the metadata starting at Glee. (although it does pull in metadata for Life and Planet Earth.

Any ideas on what this could be?

I get this every once in a while as well.  I can't say that I have a real solution for you but in the past if I restart the Plex server I am at least able to go in and manually refresh the meta data for each missing episode.

Might be a permissions issue - it's probably worth running the new permissions utility and then trying again.

You can also tail the scanner's log file to see what's causing the problem... it's located in:

/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Scanner.log
