Is there a real difference between SATA2 & SATA3 controller?

hi everyone!

 

im searching for a MoBo and i would like to know if i must invest in a mobo that have sata3 connectors or if sata2 is enought. Is there a real difference between them in real life?

    Yes, but only if you are using SSDs.  For an unRAID server, using standard 3.5" drives, you will notice no difference.
