Moving Files from cache drive! Folder does not move!

Featured Replies

Ok simple question. I had initail trouble setting up share due to the fact that the share folder would end up on disk 1 and not on the cache dick when added the file. I deleted all the folders and re-stared the array and added the share folders again and it worked. Weird!

Well I moved a Movie over to a shared "movie folder". The movie was Beowulf and the TS files were in a folder Beowulf. All located on the cache drive. Movie folder is split level1, high water, cache drive=yes

Movie----------Beowulf-------video files

Just for kicks I pressed the move now button to see what would happen. Well the good news is all the folders were copied over to disk1 including the beowulf folder with the movie video files (4.7gb)

What is buggin me is looking back on the cache drive the Beowulf folder was still there empty (0-bytes). Why did it keep an empty folder on the cache drive?

See the original release notes for the cache drive, here.  There's a paragraph about empty folders.
