February 2, 201313 yr Alright just narrowing down the final parts. Plan to have my htpc built this weekend. Now just need to get final parts for the server. CPU: celeron g550 - picking up at microcenter today $35 Mobo: input please? Looking in the under $45-$75 range. Trying to get best for money so if have to go lil higher fine. Would like a micro board. Hard drive: have 2 2tb Red WDs already. Case: a older cooler master case Psu: in the mail Corsair 430 Memory: assuming 4gb any recommendations USB: thinking lexar firefly version, idea from the lime tech recommendations. Would like a low profile. Did I miss anything? Uses: just starting with the 2 drives, I still have to rip all my media so not sure how fast that will fill up so will def need to be able to expand. Will prob run some add ons once I look more into it. Thank you for all help so far! Can't wait to get this together.
February 2, 201313 yr Author Know I just posted. But incase anyone has any input heading to micro center now. 30min drive ha.
February 2, 201313 yr I'm partial to Sandisk flash drives as they are very reliable. If you want low profile, this one is about as low profile as it gets: http://www.newegg.com/Product/index?itemNumber=N82E16820171586 4GB of space is more than enough and it barely sticks past the USB port. Only $5.50.
February 5, 201313 yr Author So motherboard is only thing I'm missing now. How does this one sound seems to have a good amount or connections and decent price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157329&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Or should there be something else I'm looking at in this price range? Thanks
February 6, 201313 yr Author Went ahead and went with the asrock b75 pro 3m. Wanted to get something ordered so I can build this weekend.
February 7, 201313 yr That motherboard looks good. Strange that is has odds numbers of SATA ports. 5 SATA2s and 3 SATA3s. Not that it will be a problem, just strange. Also leaves you plenty of PCI and PCIe slots for future expansion should you need them.
