Unraid to Unraid sync app?

Featured Replies

Just curious, it's been a while since I was deep into unraid, it's been running great... but I was curious if anyone had developed any sort of easy 'sync' add-on to allow simple syncs between two unraid servers?

I know rsync is out there, and it does the job...but I don't use Linux much, and every time I get around to hooking up the second unraid server add dragging out keyboards and such, I start entering all of these commands that I've setup once upon a time to do the sync, praying I don't do something wrong and reverse the sync, am I pulling or pushing the data across, is it going between drives or between user shares.

Even when rsync is working, I still manage to run into issues with folder depth and user shares vs disk shares, etc... or hit some roadblock with my destination setup on how it's allocating depth/free space distribution, and I end up blowing stuff away on the destination side and recopying it all, just for my own sanity that nothing unusual is happening or getting overlooked in the backup.  It's not online all the time, as I want some 'time gap between backups'....I have a cloud backup solution for daily online backups on the directories that are important to me..

Even a solution that put a gui against the rsync steps would be good.

Looks like Grsync or luckbackup would work for you. Maybe a package developer would build something if there is enough interest.  I noticed there were Slackware 13.37 txz builds...

I don't which dependencies required by (listed in the directories above) either package are not included in unRAID.
