cpu temp in webgui - plug-in?

Featured Replies

I would like to be able to check the cpu temp.  Is there a plug-in for this?

+1

Hardware monitoring in general would be a great plugin (CPU temp, fan speeds, CPU power state/frequency, etc.)

I created a new plugin addition for simpleFeatures to monitor in real-time the temperatures of CPU and mainboard.

The values are displayed in the top bar at the right side. Attached a snapshot.

It is work in progress though!

Wow, thanks!  I can't wait to try it tonight when I get home!

I just noticed that the extention is png, and not plg.  Should I still put this in /boot/config/plugins or some place else?  I've never loaded a png file before.

Thanks

It is also available under unMenu - System Info - CPU Info (at the bottom).

png is an image file. He was just posting a screenshot in that post, not the actual plugin.

Ok, I don't use unmenu and don't want to.

Where do I get the actual plugin file?

This is only an image showing how the real thing looks like.

The plugin itself is not available yet.

for now, you can log in and type

sensors

to see the CPU temps.

Ok, thanks. I missed that part. ETA?

+1 for sensors

root@Pluto:~# sensors
atk0110-acpi-0
Adapter: ACPI interface
Vcore Voltage:     +1.34 V  (min =  +0.80 V, max =  +1.60 V)
+3.3V Voltage:     +3.38 V  (min =  +2.97 V, max =  +3.63 V)
+5V Voltage:       +5.01 V  (min =  +4.50 V, max =  +5.50 V)
+12V Voltage:     +12.26 V  (min = +10.20 V, max = +13.80 V)
CPU Fan Speed:    1962 RPM  (min =  600 RPM)
Chassis Fan Speed:   0 RPM  (min =  600 RPM)
CPU Temperature:   +40.0 C  (high = +60.0 C, crit = +95.0 C)
MB Temperature:    +32.0 C  (high = +45.0 C, crit = +75.0 C)

k10temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1:       +41.5 C  (high = +70.0 C, crit = +83.5 C)

Not quite sure what the PCI adapter temp is though lol

Mine says:

k10temp-pci-00c3

Adapter: PCI adapter

temp1:        +0.0 C  (high = +70.0 C)

                      (crit = +99.5 C, hyst = +97.5 C)

So hyst = hysterical ? :)

So does mine:

root@Tower:~# sensors
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
ERROR: Can't get value of subfeature temp2_input: Can't read
Core 0:       +0.0 C  (crit = +100.0 C)
Core 1:      +10.0 C  (crit = +100.0 C)

useless...

temp1:        +0.0 C  (high = +70.0 C)

                      (crit = +99.5 C, hyst = +97.5 C)[/font]

So hyst = hysterical ? :)

Nope, hysteresis. No clue on what exactly it applies to in this context, but that's what it stands for.

Bonienl - ETA on your new plugin?  :)

thanks for working on this!

Hello Bonienl - can you please give us an idea on ETA for this plugin?  It will be a blockbuster for sure!

Hello Bonienl - can you please give us an idea on ETA for this plugin?  It will be a blockbuster for sure!

Switchblade, i don't want to be rude... but i think reading through this forum learns just how useless it is to keep whining about ETA's.

Be patient, he said it's work in progress... give the guy a break.

It is indeed work in progress, but something can be shared.

Be aware that this plugin only works with the new (not yet released) core webGUI v1.0.11 plugin of SimpleFeatures and to use it you will need to remove all the old SF plugins (version 1.0.5 and before).

First some instructions to remove SF version 1.0.5 and prepare for the new version

  • Delete files /boot/config/plugins/simpleFeatures*.plg
  • Delete folder /boot/config/plugins/simpleFeatures
  • Create folder /boot/plugins
  • Copy the core-webGUI plugin to the folder created above
  • Copy the system temperature plugin to the folder created above
  • Reboot the system

Note: when clicking on the file links above opens a new page in the browser then instead use the right button and choose "save target as". Make sure that the just downloaded files have the extension ".plg" (some browsers may have changed that)

After reboot both plugins will be installed and the necessary packages are downloaded from my site (bergware). I make this available at the moment for testing, but an official release will be made available by speeding_ant on google download. Together with all other updated plugins.

SF v1.0.11 incorporates all changes available in unRAID v5.0-rc11. Including the new 'duplicate' view when browsing user shares from the GUI.

This version contains numerous corrections and enhancements, too many to list all, some highlights:

- New structure of file locations (each SF plugin will use its own settings file in /boot/config/simpleFeatures)

- Support for interface bonding when two or more ethernet ports are detected (see 'network settings')

- Support for system temperature plugin

- Support for preclear plugin (separate, not included here)

- Updated system information

- Fast browsing of user shares (huge speed improvement compared to stock GUI)

- Latest versions of javascripts

- Additional display settings

- Colored icons

Let me know your feedback...

Thanks Bonienl!  I guess it didn't hurt to ask after all ;)

I'll give it a test run.

Can I still use the other SF 1.0.5 plugins, like notify, etc with this new webgui version?

Thanks Bonienl!  I guess it didn't hurt to ask after all ;)

Free to ask but do not expect hard commitments...  ;D

Old plugin versions can NOT be used! Hence instructions to remove all.
