February 4, 201313 yr I currently have 2 data disks of 2 TB each and a parity disk of 2TB. The share setting is set for high water and the split level is 2. I started copying movies, tv shows and music off the network, and it started filling sdb first. I thought this was normal and that sda would start filling up once sdb has less than 1TB of free space remaining. But as I cross the 1TB mark, it still isnt copying any data to sda. Isn't there something wrong here. Please refer my screenshot attached.
February 4, 201313 yr Author Sorry for jumping the gun. At about 0.994TB free on sdb, sda has now started filling up. Sorry!
February 4, 201313 yr Not necessarily. It depends on the path name for the files being copied. With a split level of 2, only the first two folders within the path can be replicated on each disk making up the share. If anything is being copied into a folder that is 3 levels deep (or more) then the files are constrained to the disk within which the third level is initially allocated.
