Hi,

 

Is the SuperMicro's AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 a good buy?  Because the IBM cards are almost twice the price in the UK.

 

Are there any disadvantages to the SuperMicro's AOC-SAS2LP-MV8??

    You can use the AOC-SASLP-MV8. The performance will be identical using HDD. SATA 3 is only required if using SSD or a port multiplier.
