Referencing a cache-only share for plugins

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I thought I saw this mentioned in passing somewhere, but I can't seem to find it even after a few searches...

So I thought I'd ask :)...  I have a cache-only share set up specifically for plugins (called "apps" since I'm creative like that).  My question is, when a plugin asks for an install location, should I specify:

/mnt/user/apps/{install location}

OR

/mnt/cache/apps/{install location}

Does it matter?  Is one preferred or considered the proper way?  E.g., will a race condition be created if I use one or the other on array startup/disks_mounted event?

Thanks!

Technically either should work. I point to /mnt/cache/plugins/
