February 10, 201313 yr Hi I recently replace my 2TB drive with a new WD 3TB drive and whilst doing a quick smart report i noticed that the LCC count seemed high to me compare to the Power on hours count. Is this the case? 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 246 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 2812 Now i know about the widdle tool, Ive used it before on my other 4x WD 2TD drives but is it safe to use this on the WD30EZRX . If so how do i it, do i need to disconnect the other drivers in the server as they are WD drives also and have already been widdled (Cant remember what i did last time). Smart report attached on new drive. smartctl -a -d ata /dev/sda (parity) smartctl version 5.38 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-8 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Device Model: WDC WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 Serial Number: WD-WMC1T2102007 Firmware Version: 80.00A80 User Capacity: 3,000,592,982,016 bytes Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] ATA Version is: 9 ATA Standard is: Exact ATA specification draft version not indicated Local Time is: Sun Feb 10 06:49:45 2013 GMT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.
