hello all...please forgive me for the newbie ?

  i just finished building my server, while at my friends house everything worked fine(well except couch potato).. so i take my machine home and i am unable to view the machine on the network.. the odd thing is my nic card is amber, but my router port is green.. please help.. this is getting very frustrating..  im a super newb in need of help!! thanx

    Please provide us your syslog, see the Capturing your syslog wiki page.  You can save the syslog to the flash drive, then shut down and bring the flash drive to a Windows or Mac computer and copy the syslog.

     

    Also, check your network settings on the console, are you getting an IP address?

     

    You can't always go by the LED's, different manufacturers are inconsistent.
