My new Mac leaves tracks on accessed share and folder / files

Featured Replies

I have my Mac a week now and I see traces of it appear in my shares. Whenever I open a folder or access a file it places a ._DS_STORE or ._accessed file.mkv in that folder. Is there an easy way to get rid of these files? Or can MAC OS X be told not to place these files on my server in the first place. I only have a limited 1 week experience with MAC OS. The MAC runs Moutain Lion 10.8.2

it's a mac, that's what they do.

Yeah, it's annoying whenever you download a zip file that contains them, also just as annoying when you download a zip file containing thumbs.db.

People really need to not zip up system files.
