February 19, 201313 yr Hello everyone, I'm using a NORCO 4224 case, and I currently have a flashed M1015 HBA with the Intel 24 port SATA expander. I'm seeing some setups here that have 2 flashed M1015's and I'm curious as to what the benefit of that kind of setup is.
February 19, 201313 yr ...the benefit is redundancy...you have an alternate path to the disk-array, even if one controller (port) fails. However, I don't know if this is supported in the linux driver shipped within unRAID.

However, I don't know if this is supported in the linux driver shipped within unRAID. Ahh, I guess I was wondering if there was any noticeable performance improvement (parity check speeds, etc etc). I'm still very new to the world of server hardware (unraid, and linux in general as well haha).
