Owncloud - Unraid NFS Share Mount Security Question

I am considering running owncloud on a raspberry pi.  From a security standpoint could I setup a user share in unraid, utilizing NFS exports and then mount this share to the raspberry pi running owncloud.  Would doing this make my unraid server vulnerable?  I just don’t want to do something stupid.  I was thinking this would be safer than running owncloud directly on the unraid server…is this a correct assumption? Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
