February 23, 201313 yr I am running RC11 and connect to unraid via AFP from a Mac. I have noticed a problem occasionally, when I am copying a movie from my mac to the unraid share. (It seems to happen only when I copy a big file) I drag the movie file from the mac to the unraid share. The finder progress window comes up and shows the file copying. The window which was showing the destination directory (on the unraid share) suddenly displays the directory of the next level up from the destination. The finder progress window continues to show the file copying. When the finder progress window goes away, the mac thinks the copy is completed. Yet, the movie file is not in the destination directory, nor is it on the cache drive. The unraid system log does not report any errors, and the mac doesn't report any errors. If I then delete the original files, I am out of luck, as there is no copy on the unraid server. Its happened often enough that I now double check the destination directory to make sure the copy succeeded before I'll delete the source file. The mac is running 10.6.8. The unraid server is running RC11 with a cache drive. SF 1.05 is also installed, although this has happened with SF uninstalled. Has anyone else experienced this? Or, could this be a hardware issue?
April 12, 201313 yr I experienced this yesterday on a mac mini (os x 10.7.5) writing to Unraid 4.7 Plus. I copied a directory full of mp4 files, nested each in a sub-directory. About 200 gb total. After the copy was supposed to be finished, the directory structure was copied, but most of the sub-directories were empty. My guess is that this is an Apple SMB problem. I had this happen before when I first tested unraid in 2010. When I copy files in small batches I do not see this problem. I don't think you have a hardware problem. I have not tried this with Windows 7, but I'm guessing this is an Apple issue.
