windows 8 unraid problems

Featured Replies

just installed windows 8.

but now i cant find my unraid server under network conections.

can access it trough my web browser.

and thats about it.

worked just fine for me in windows 7.

somebody help me. need to get to my files on the server

Never played with windows 8 but... if you go in an explorer and enter "\\tower" in the address bar, do you see you files?

I did upgrade all my Windows machines from 7 to 8. Some 32-bit, some 64-bit. They all work happily with my unRAID boxes.

* Enter the name of your unRAID box in the Windows Explorer (e.g. \\Tower)

* Perhaps your Windows 8 account name does not match an unRAID user name - chose "Use different account information" when connecting.

* Check your groupname in unRAID (WORKGROUP).

Regards

Harald

Start with the IP address of the unRAID server... i.e. click start and type:

\\IP.ADDRESS.OF.UNRAID

might look like \\192.168.1.100 for example.  Can you get that far?
