Seanskie
Hey guys, I'm new around here and could use a little help. Does anybody here use Chrome OS? I recently purchased a chromebook for my daily computing and am trying to figure out how to get into the my unraid server with it. I know I can use crosh or secure shell, but I'm totally unfamiliar with anything but putty (coming from a windows machine) and can't seem to make it work properly. Any help is greatly appreciated! Seanskie
I tried with Crosh (built-in) and the Secure-Shell (SSH) apps for Chrome OS and couldn't figure out the configuration of either properly. Link to comment
pinion
Do you have ssh set up on your server? Should just be, ctrl-alt-t then root@unraid, or whatever your server name is. root@tower maybe? Or the ip address, [email protected] (or whatever it is for you). Perhaps you never had ssh set up at all but instead you were telneting in with putty? Do you have unmenu installed? You can install openssl and openssh from the package manager in that, or at least check to see if they're installed. but I believe telnet is enabled by default. Link to comment
Seanskie
That seems to be it. I was always using putty to telnet in, not SSH. I'll see about enabling those and trying crosh or ssh again tonight. Link to comment
Automatic
If you unmenu set up, you can always use "Shell in a box", it creates a telnet session with your browser, which, is what chrome OS is all about:- In unmenu, to go "PKG manager" and just install shell in a box from there.
